i be

i was born and raised in Thailand by my aunts and at another point by my grandma . i reunited with my parents when they brought my brothers and me to Los Angeles. i write/speak/act/love to break the cycle of silence and violence. and i owe it all to my mom who waitresses two jobs while staying in a loveless marriage.

i don’t think i’m there yet
but i strive everyday to be everything as my dear friend Jonathan Siegal describes,

and speaking of Positive Male Role Models…
sadly,
few can embody the universality of this term
with as much totality & unbiased dedication
as well as the young poet Pathanapong.
What he lacks with years on this planet
he, certainly, makes up for
with the wisdom, sensitivity & awareness he’s gathered.
Combine that with his riveting sincere performance style,
talented word weaving,
and compassionate voice
- you’ve got one Man
who strives to redefine “Man”
EVERYDAY.

Whether he’s speaking on social injustices,
from a global standpoint or from personal experience
his manner is one of Information First…
Solution… Second.
Far too many writers/poets/activists/so called socio-political commentators
fail to balance “The Two”, AT ALL…
or with as much conviction & self-sacrifice
as this dutiful Scholar of Life does.
It is not enough
to just complain & laundry list the ills of society
we must also offer the Heart, Mind & Hand
some kind of aid, in it’s reversal or complete cessation.
And I’ve not met an individual yet
who can convey this as Passionately & as Honestly
as Pathanapong.

His efforts to Heal
not only cross the subjects of
Racism, Classism, & Religious Enmity
but speak
on a Governmental, Familial, & Personal level, as well
He is also one of the strongest male voices on Women’s Issues
I’ve witnessed to date,
and on general topics of Gender, all together.
Realizing that “Communication Between The Sexes”
is the initial step in confronting humanity’s grotesque division

A template for us all!

His focus
in this Reclamation of Unity
has been to come to peace within himself, primarily
and then…
through his Presence & Unfailing Belief
show the world “Who We Truly Are”
and… Ultimately…
perhaps
more Importantly…
WHO WE CAN BE!!!
